Designbox member Isaac Panzarella was interviewed by archinfo.it as a followup to a lecture he gave at the Next Energy Conference in Milan earlier this year. The discussion centers on the introduction of an Italian version of LEED in April 2010 by GBC Italia, highlights the value of LEED in the design process and outlines the differences between the US and Italian versions. LEED Italia was two years in development, incorporates Italian and European standards and legislation for energy and environmental performance, and most importantly, is tuned to the regional viewpoint of building and site development. Gamil Design and Thirdparty Labs create new site for ShopLocalRaleigh.com. April 17, 2009
Designbox members Beth Khalifa (and her design team at Gamil Design) and Rob Ruchte (Thirdparty Labs) collaborated in the web design and custom content management of a new Raleigh campaign created by the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association: "Shop Local Raleigh." The new campaign and site launched on April 17, 2009 and is intended to help promote local businesses and the idea of keeping more dollars local by selecting local shopping options.

Chris Eselgroth of Asheville, N.C., was graphic designer for "Painting Is My Madness," a limited edition book presenting the computer artwork of Ringo Starr. One hundred percent of Ringo's proceeds will be donated to the Lotus Foundation, whose objectives are to fund, support, participate in and promote charitable projects aimed at advancing social welfare. "Painting is My Madness" is published by ArtCelebs and is available at all of Ringo Starr & the All-Starr Band concerts this summer or by going to www.RingoStarrArt.com.
